Why not sell it off to a developer for accomodation, use it as a museum or sell it for private scientific use? It's a shame they didn't keep up the maintenance on it. Perhaps they have another back up plan...?

A museum would be a great idea - along the lines of the Cabinet War Rooms in London.

You would need to win the Euro lottery to be able to afford the £5 Million the MOD wants, and £10 million to clean and tidy all the dangerous stuff up.. Asbestos, radioactive material, mould spores, germ warefare tests...
